Testimonials
"I am always impressed at the ideas Katie has. She's got a lot of knowledge about story and entertainment that helps her create something that feels well rounded and solid. Her talent with drawing and animation always follow through to make a truly engaging piece. On top of those skills, she's impressively efficient."

Context
For the KidSpring series Crowned I worked with the art team on helping establish an art style that would work for a wide target audience while at the same time reflect the theme of the series. Due to time restraints we needed to develop a style that would work for ages pre-K all the way up to 5th graders that way we could use assets from the preschool programming for the Elementery programming as well. My contributions to this series are included but not limited to the samples below.

Sample 1: Bible Story Animation
After some brainstorming and research we landed on a paper cut out style. While this style was great for reaching our wide target audience I also knew that it would work well for animation. I liked the idea of animating a story book and the paper cut out aesthetic fit so great with the concept of an animated pop up book
Sample 2: Dilwyn
Dilwyn the Dragon is a cute example of how the art style not only worked with human Bible Story characters but also fantasy characters. I designed, illustrated, and later animated Dilwyn for on-stage interaction with the actors
Sample 3: Bible Story Illustration
While sample 1 is an example of how the assets work in an animation, the image below is an example of a picture card I illustrated for a small group setting. This illustration would be printed with text on the back and a small group leader would read it to the children.
